This work group session will provide an overview of two internal funding opportunities for faculty research projects. We will explore how to use these grants to help build a research agenda. In addition, the group will practice review of funder guidelines and discuss applicable proposal objectives.

We will discuss avenues for making the required connection with faculty partner(s) from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.
- The Illinois Innovation Network funds collaborative research and focuses on the umbrella concept of “Sustaining Illinois.” This theme is viewed in a broad sense to include economic, health-related, and social-related problems that affect not only the state and its communities, but also the environmental sustainability of its food and water ecosystem.
