Scouting is arguably the most impactful action a hunter can take to increase their odds of a successful harvest. Understanding deer behavior, the proper timing of scouting, and how to use scouting information in your hunt-planning process is a crucial step for any deer hunter looking to fill their tag. Join us on October 23 at Chain o' Lakes State Park for a FREE 1-day Learn to Hunt: Deer - Scouting Strategies and Techniques workshop. This workshop is designed to teach new hunters: why, how, and where to scout for deer in Illinois. Advanced registration is REQUIRED. You must be 18 years or older to attend.
Since this event will be entirely outdoors, if inclement weather is imminent, the event may be postponed to a later date. If this occurs, you will receive an email to the email address you provided during registration. Field events will follow all health and safety guidance in response to COVID-19.
Since much of this event will take place in areas of dense vegetation, uneven terrain, and may require walking several miles, it's recommended to wear durable pants and sturdy footware.
