Force-multiplying quantum hardware with software

Abstract: This talk will cover several vignettes that demonstrate how quantum hardware can attain force-multiplied performance by utilizing co-designed software. Common to these vignettes is the idea that quantum software should break the traditional abstraction barriers present in classical stacks. This requires tailoring compilation and characterization methods to the underlying device physics of hardware—an approach which forms the basis of our Superstaq platform. This talk will also present results from an emerging application of quantum computing known as contextual machine learning. Numerics indicate a quantum advantage for analysis of highly-correlated data.

Bio: Dr. Pranav Gokhale is Infleqtion’s VP of Quantum Software. He was previously the co-founder and CEO of Super.tech, which was acquired by ColdQuanta in May 2022. Pranav has a PhD in quantum computer science from UChicago, where his research led to three best paper awards, over a dozen publications, and three patents. His work spans the full stack, from low-level pulse optimization to compilation to fault-tolerant quantum algorithm design and benchmarking.
