The Office of Volunteers is looking for Spring volunteers to help us research the following:
- History of cemetaries in Champaign-Urbana (burial practices that involved racial segregation)
- How (c) (6) organizations can legally conduct foundation and development activities
- Black and Native American agriculture in Illinois: history, heritage, and future
- Impacts of COVID-19 on small businesses and business outlook resiliency
- Non-profits who assist the families of fallen military service members or military families with children with disabilities
- National civic education programs for junior high through senior high school students
Research can be conducted in teams or as individuals, virtually or in small groups that meet on evenings in the Student Organization Complex (SOC) in the Illini Union.
OVP will sign off on service hours for research! We hope to start project research on Monday, March 1, 2021 so make room for us in your schedules.
