Abstract: Introduction to the unique position of the Tees Valley, United Kingdom and what we are doing at the Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre as part of Teesside University to reach our Net Zero targets. The seminar will explore the current ambitions for a CO2 pipeline within the Tees Valley to sequester CO2 and the construction of a H2 pipeline across the county. It will also explore the Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre’s capacity and expertise in Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage, H2, Circular Economy, Digital and Smart Energy.
Biography: Dr Ellis Marshall, from Teesside University, United Kingdom, is a Senior Scientist in Industrial Decarbonisation specialising in critical mineral recovery, inorganic materials for capture and storage and plastic recycling as well as the Business Partnership Manager for Net Zero. He focuses on collaborations between academia and industry especially towards knowledge exchange, scale-up and the advancement of Net Zero technologies. He has a background in Chemistry and prior to completing his PhD at the University of Hull, he worked in the chemical sector for a number of years developing his pilot-plant scale chemistry techniques. Post-PhD Dr Marshall entered the Net Zero market and was a CTO for a 3D printing rubber company, he now champions the Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre at Teesside University and is active in research collaborations with industry looking to scale up technologies from TRL 3-7.
