Taguette is a free and open-source tool for coding and analyzing text data. In this workshop, we’ll use Taguette and secondary data from the Qualitative Data Repository to practice developing and applying codes to interview data.

By the end of the workshop, you should be able to:

  • Download Taguette to your device or log into the version hosted by Taguette
  • Import interview transcripts into Taguette
  • Create and apply inductive and deductively developed codes to text data in Taguette.
  • View how codes have been applied across documents in a Taguette project.
  • Define open research and explain challenges and benefits of sharing qualitative data.

This workshop is adapted from the Data Carpentries workshop Open Qualitative Research and will be hands-on exploration with participants asked to share their experiences and questions throughout the workshop. You’ll also be asked to provide feedback on the overall lesson.
