Abstract
Chemist Greg George has taken a Brownian path from brownfields to brown spirits, trying to make the most of his University of Illinois bachelor's degree in chemistry. He will share some of the milestones on his circuitous way to winning the R&D 100 Award in Process and Prototyping while working for a 4-person start-up company, the smallest company ever to have won, sharing the spotlight with international mega-laboratories. He will share some insights about managing career risk in an unpredictable world of unexpected and unforeseen opportunities.

Bio
George is an analytical and process systems chemist with extensive experience supporting R&D for military and government legacy e-chemical waste cleanups and a successful, award-winning, high-visibility distilled spirits start-up venture. He and his late U of I spouse are the proud parents of 4 including 2 U of I grads.
