Join Jesse McCarthy (English and African American Studies, Harvard University) and Christopher Freeburg (English) for a lunchtime book discussion. Professor McCarthy will briefly introduce his book The Blue Period: Black Writing in the Early Cold War (2024), and then Professor Freeburg will moderate a discussion. Read a synopsis of the book

These can be sent via campus mail or picked up at HRI (4th floor, Levis Faculty Center). If you would like to receive a copy of the book in advance of the event, kindly contact Stephanie Uebelhoer at suebelho@illinois.edu to reserve your copy and make arrangements for pick-up/receipt (pick-up available Monday–Friday during regular office hours).**
