A book talk and conversation on Stephen Macekura's The Mismeasure of Progress: Economic Growth and Its Critics (University of Chicago Press, 2020), which explores critiques of economic growth across the twentieth-century world by revealing how reformers have challenged and sought to rethink "growth." Stephen Macekura is Associate Professor of Global and International Studies at Indiana University and a scholar of US and international history focusing on political economy, international development, U.S. foreign relations, and environmentalism.
