Dr. Wang’s research focuses on developing technologies that combine stem cell engineering and biomaterial engineering to promote tissue regeneration. The Wang Group engineers and develops stem cells, stem cell derivatives and biomaterial-based scaffolds for the treatment of surgical diseases. Ongoing projects include (1) engineering stem cells and stem cell-derived exosomes for tissue regeneration and targeted delivery; (2) developing instructive biomaterial scaffolds for stem cell culture, delivery and recruitment; (3) establishing and using experimental and naturally-occurring disease models to evaluate stem cell and biomaterial products.https://bme.ucdavis.edu/people/aijun-wang
