The Slavic Reference Service will be hosting our virtual Caucasus Research Forum, an interdisciplinary research forum that seeks to unite multidisciplinary scholars, librarians and archivists, students, and policy researchers. Participants are invited to submit an abstract for a 15-minute presentation about their ongoing or completed research. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where researchers may receive feedback from a variety of perspectives.
This year’s forum will be held April 24–25, 2024 on Zoom, with the theme “Movement.” Sub-themes of the forum include:
- Forced migration and exile
- Diaspora communities
- Transnational social, political, and religious movements
- Deep history
- Borderlands
The deadline for proposals is April 12th.

The Caucasus Research Forum is made possible by funding from the Department of State's Program for the Study of Eastern Europe and the Independent States of the Former Soviet Union (Title VIII). This forum is intended to provide a supportive and informal environment for researchers, information professionals, and students to discuss future, ongoing, or completed scholarly projects.
