    With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart, this 1962 Tony Award-winning, slapstick comedy combines the plays of ancient Roman comedian Plautus with the whimsical vaudevillian genius of modern musical theatre. Illinois Theatre will adopt a uniquely 21st-century lens in exploring how comedy has changed through the centuries.
