School of Social Work Calendar

For students to share how recent events in the world are impacting you —personally, academically, and professionally. You’re welcome to share, listen, or simply be a supportive presence. Please note that these sessions are focused on reflection, not debate or persuasion.

During this information session for currently enrolled MSW students, we will be exploring how school social work is different from other focus areas, address questions that MSW students have and discuss potential steps of being a school social worker in Illinois if you do not focus on schools initially.

The panel will share how community-engaged research has fostered student leadership, professional growth, and meaningful community partnerships. Students will discuss how they developed agency to make a difference, while faculty share how they empower students to become leaders and changemakers beyond the classroom.
