Family & Graduate Housing - Event Calendar (Apartments)

This weekly class offers an informal setting for international participants to practice and improve their English-speaking skills. Classes are free of charge; however, regular attendance is encouraged to maximize learning. This class is organized by the International Hospitality Committee.

The supplemental food program for women, infants, and children (WIC) is excited to be at Orchard Downs! They will be open on Thursdays from 8:30-12 p.m. and 1-4:30 p.m. at 2040-A Orchard Street. Don't hesitate to stop in for more information or to enroll during open hours.

Come learn about nutrition and young children. CUPHD will be visiting story time to share information and resources for resident families.

Join us each month for Hobby Night! December’s hobby will be painting with materials and snacks provided. We will be following a painting tutorial while discussing winter safety tips. Let’s make art together!

Family & Graduate Housing residents are invited to celebrate the season at our annual ice skating trip to the University of Illinois Ice Arena (406 E Armory Ave, Champaign, IL 61820) on Friday, December 13, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Enjoy an evening of skating, community, and winter cheer! We’ll have pizza and hot chocolate to keep you warm and energized!

Residents are invited to participate in a free yoga class by Sri Sri Yoga every Sunday. Yoga offers numerous benefits for both the mind and body. It enhances flexibility, strength, and balance through various poses and stretches. Additionally, yoga promotes mental well-being by reducing stress and anxiety, and improving focus and relaxation.

Cozy Up! Navigating Winter Woes! Join us to hear different ways in which you can navigate the wide variety of emotions that are often felt during the colder months from Residential Case Manager, Amy Thoren! You will also have the opportunity to win some prizes. Food will be provided on a first come first serve basis.

Join the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District (CUPHD) Playgroup at Orchard Downs! This welcoming playgroup is designed for infants through age 3, accompanied by a parent or caregiver. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with other families, support your child’s early development, and build community.
