Please join us for the 2023 Willard J. and Priscilla F. Visek Lecture presented by the College of ACES, Division of Nutritional Sciences. This year’s speaker, Dr. Penny Gordon-Larsen, focuses on the linkages between biology, behavior, and environment to inform efforts to prevent, manage, and treat obesity and associated cardiometabolic diseases.

Participants in this workshop will learn features to look for when evaluating publication opportunities in order to make an informed choice about where to submit research. Participants will also understand the utility and drawbacks of different journal ranking metrics as a way to evaluate quality.

This phonetic alphabet, created by leaders of the Mormon Church, may encapsulate pronunciations of English dialect that have otherwise disappeared over time.

Come learn about a country from a human book! 'Read' or hear about the different countries represented in our community from its residents and sample international delights and cuisine. Each station will feature a specific country where you can interact with the "book" (i.e., a person).

We will discuss free tools that are available for conducting qualitative data analysis, with a focus on Taguette and spreadsheet tools. This workshop does not assume any previous knowledge of Taguette or other QDA software, but does expect that you know how to work with data in spreadsheet format.

The aim of this interactive workshop is to share over two decades of community-engaged research, and the lessons learnt from the process of supporting and mobilizing communities, and producing different knowledge deliverables (including art-based ones, such as animated films or comics) for a range of publics.
