This webinar will discuss use of geomembranes in embankment, concrete, masonry, and roller compacted concrete (RCC) dams as part of a geosynthetic barrier system. The uses of geosynthetic barrier systems in construction of new dams and rehabilitation of existing dams will be discussed.

Part 1 will address quality control and assurance efforts in the manufacture of geomembranes, from raw material supplier qualification through customer feedback. Manufacturing quality control including physical property testing of incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods, quality system certifications and standards compliance, and response to customer feedback.

Part 2 will provide an in depth look at factory fabrication quality control beginning with receiving raw materials through the panel conversion process and finally shipment to the customer. Details of raw material inspection, machine setup and qualifications, in-process ASTM testing, inspections, repairs, and quality control reporting will be addressed.

Part 3 will summarize third-party geosynthetic materials and installation inspection practices tot ensure quality products and workmanship that meet or exceed project permitting requirements, and final acceptance in accordance to plans and specifications. The process ensures that clients receive a defendable final document and a quality product for years to come.
