    Dr. Villeneuve will discuss the brain changes that characterize the preclinical phase of Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Villeneuve will also discuss the potential modifiable risk factors that could slow down disease progression, and explain how altering new imaging and fluid criteria can help to identify individuals in the preclinical phase of AD.

    Evidence suggests that improved cardiorespiratory fitness may mitigate this decline. Higher-fit older adults tend to show preserved white matter microstructural integrity compared to their lower-fit counterparts. Nonetheless, it is still an open question as to what extent fitness and aging independently have on the matter of integrity across the entire adult lifespan.
