This workshop will focus on concepts underlying student engagement and practical strategies to engage our students across diverse formats.

The University of Illinois Archives is hosting a monthly Women in Science Lecture Series that will feature speakers from across the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s diverse and multidisciplinary scientific enterprise. The lecture series seeks to highlight the important innovations and contributions of women in the sciences at the University of Illinois.

Associate Professor of Psychology, Dr. Sadaghiani will discuss her research on large-scale neurocognitive networks, functional connectivity, and cognitive control.

This hands-on workshop will cover using the Canvas editor to create navigable pages, writing effective alt text description for images, charts, and graphs, ensuring readable color contrast, creating accessible tables and links, and using Canvas accessibility tools to fix common issues.

This hands-on workshop covers creating accessible navigation, headings, tables, lists, and hyperlinks, how to write alt text for images, generate and edit video captions, as well as the advantages (and limitations) of using Moodle’s accessibility checker and screen reader helper.

Get up to speed on using the Pope Tech Canvas Accessibility Guide to make Canvas pages more accessible for everyone! In this hands-on workshop, we’ll start with an overview of the Pope Tech Canvas Accessibility Guide, how it functions, what the various errors, alerts, structural elements, and features mean, and how to fix these issues on a Canvas page.

Join Ricker Library for an embroidery-themed study break on Reading Day. Drop in any time between 4-6 PM to learn about the Japanese art of sashiko, and make your own coaster. The event is beginner friendly, and supplies will be provided.

Visit CITL's Innovation Studio (Armory 172) between 12 and 4 pm to play video and board games, interact with generative AI, create a gift with a 3D printer or laser cutter, make a video in our invisibility cloak, or drive our Robomaster. Celebrate our doctoral graduates!

Documents must be proactively accessible for all students. This hands-on workshop will cover what to look for and several tools to help you find and fix issues. You’ll learn how to scan multiple document types for accessibility issues and remediate them.
