The Sousa Archives’ new exhibit, “The Imperfect Saxophone: Not Just a Clown’s Instrument,” examines America’s complex social and cultural relationship with the saxophone during a period known as the “saxophone craze.” 

RBML's fall exhibit featuring the University of Illinois Library's extensive Conde de Montemar letters collection, as well as other rare and fascinating books about the 16th-Century Spanish conquest and colonization of Perú.

We invite you to join us in the Main Library on Thursday, 12/8 for a study break anytime between 12-9 pm for our end-of-the-semester tradition, De-Stress Fest!

Drop by the Rare Book & Manuscript Library (Main Library Rm. 346) on Reading Day between 3 and 5pm to hand-print your own holiday card on our relief printing press! Then, make your way over to Skeuomorph Press at the Champaign-Urbana Community Fab Lab (1301 S. Goodwin Ave.) to print letterpress text inside your card. Enjoy festive refreshments and get a (temporary) tattoo!

Join us for an evening of performance, creation, and poetry. Stuckey, also known as Dr. Reuben A. Buford May, will kick off the evening with a performance. Then there will be time for creative poetry activities, and poetry readings. Feel free to bring a poem to share in your native language, or a language you are learning!
