RBML’s new exhibit celebrates the 75th anniversary of Gwendolyn Brooks’s 'Annie Allen' – the poetry collection that won the first Pulitzer Prize by a Black author – and explores the rich history of Black literature’s emergence into the mainstream. On display through May 2025.

The Reading Room will be closed for a private event on May 5 from noon onwards. Before noon the study space will be limited to the South side of the room. Normal hours resume May 6.

The May edition of the Women in Science Lecture Series will be given by Jennifer Hain Teper, Head of Preservation Services at the University of Illinois Library, who will discuss how she uses science in her work to conserve library collections and special collections.

On Reading Day, take a study break to relax and refresh at the library's end-of-semester tradition, De-Stress Fest!

Stop by room 346 in the Main Library on Thursday, May 8, from 3-5pm, and celebrate the semester’s end with some sweet and salty refreshments, button-making, and coloring — all are welcome! And be sure to check out the many other study break activities going on all day throughout the library as part of De-Stress Fest!

Adam Beaty will detail his experiences as an MSLIS student independently leading two archival projects focused on LGBTQ materials: a digital collection named "Queer Nightlife in Champaign-Urbana, IL: 1973-2000", and a digital exhibit named "LGBTQ Spaces in Champaign County".
