Cancer Center Events

The Big Ten CRC Grand Rounds are monthly educational events hosted by member institutions for investigators, scientists, and more. May's event will feature Cancer Center at Illinois members Timothy Fan and Viktor Gruev, who will explore advances in imaging technologies and immunotherapeutic strategies for improving cancer detection and therapy.

Mechanochemical dynamic therapy (MDT) is a new ultrasound cancer treatment approach to advancing radical cancer treatment. Utilizing non-destructive ultrasound and innovative mechano-sensitive sensitizers, MDT stimulates the production of reactive oxygen species, effectively harnessing the combined strengths of photodynamic therapy and sonodynamic therapy.
