The week before finals calls for extended library hours and COFFEE! Monday, April 30 - Friday, May 4, the Library will be open an extra 3 hours each night so you have a safe place to study into the wee hours. We will also be serving coffee, tea, and snacks in the late evening . Monday - Thursday: 8:30 am - 3:00 am & Friday: 8:30 am - 9:00 pm

It’s Welcome Week at UIS! We are helping kick off the new year with our annual MYO Bookend Event! Do you have a bookshelf and a stack of books? Do you need a bookend to help keep that stack tidy? Well you are in luck! Librarians Sarah Sagmoen and Nancy Weichert will be crafting DIY bookends with students in Student Union on Thursday, August 30 from 11:00am – 1:00pm.
Brookens Library & the Friends of Brookens Library in partnership with the Diversity Center & Capital Honors Scholars Program will be taking a group of UIS students to the Illinois College campus to hear Colson Whitehead, author of "The Underground Railroad" speak about his award winning book.
Contemporary Attacks on American Constitutional Freedom: Hate In recognition of Constitution Day. A panel will discuss current issues related to free speech, political discourse, race, sexuality, & the press. They will examine how the U.S. Constitution addresses the civil liberties related to these important issues that we believe constitute the core of U.S. citizenship.
Join the Library from 11am-2pm in the Student Union for Talk Like a Pirate Day! We will have a Make Your Own Pirate Eyepatch station, fun giveaways, and tasty treats throughout the day! Look for us around campus too. You never know where we will be popping up!
