The WiDS event will feature the local speakers as they present sessions on opportunities for women in data science, technical vision talks, and the variety of data science and technology careers available in the Midwest. This event is free and open to all.
Students from every discipline of engineering set up exhibits to remind the general public of the role that science plays in everyday life and to show the difference that technology will make in the future. Sponsoring awards and competitions, corporations that push the boundaries of science today also make an appearance.
Engineering Open House showcases the engineering campus to more than 20,000 visitors each year. It is the largest student-run event at the U of I, and is free and fun for all ages. The College of Engineering welcomes all alumni to the third floor of Engineering Hall from 10:00am – 3:30pm on Friday and Saturday for snacks and a warm place to relax.
