joyUS justUS is an immersive dance experience that takes on joy as the ultimate expression of resistance.

This ensemble has a set instrumentation and performs large ensemble works, quality repertoire on various levels, historic transcriptions, and focuses on both experience and proficiency development for student members.

The University of Illinois Percussion Ensemble specializes in the performance of contemporary and traditional repertoire for small and large ensembles. The University of Illinois Steel Band performs music from the calypso, soca, jazz, and popular repertoire.

The University of Illinois Symphony Orchestra (UISO) is the School of Music's premier orchestra. The Symphony Orchestra performs major literature from the 18th, 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries.

Students in these small jazz combos have the opportunity to hone their technique and work on tight arrangements.
