Dr. Selvin will discuss various techniques used to study neurons, and separately, molecular motors. He will also show that MINFLUX, another technique recently acquired by UIUC, can get nanometer resolution on neurons and has the potential for millisecond resolution with molecular motors.

In this hybrid event in 1005 Beckman and on Zoom, Beckman Institute Director Nadya Mason will share what has been accomplished in her first few months as Beckman director plus plans moving forward. Registration is required for Zoom access.

Convocations are sponsored by some units, schools, and colleges in December to individually recognize undergraduate and graduate students who complete their degree requirements at the end of the fall semester. There is not a university-wide Commencement ceremony held in December. Graduates are invited to return to campus in May for Commencement at Memorial Stadium.
