Alumna Marinda Wu (PhD, ‘76, Drago) will share her personal and professional journey as a chemist, from her family roots to her PhD in chemistry at Illinois and a long career in the chemical industry, primarily with Dow Chemical Company in research and development but also experiences with small chemical companies and startups.

In our time together, we will create origami to celebrate Tanabata, a supernatural love story. People in Japan write their own wishes on colored paper and typically tie them to bamboo trees. Today we will make Tanabata origami with the hopes that your own passionate wishes come true!
