College of Media Events Calendar

The College of Media will hold a new three-part talk series, “Bridging Divides: Conversations on Media and Disagreement.” The final talk, “Engaging with People, Perspectives, and Policies When You Don’t Agree: Lessons from Journalism” will feature professors in the Department of Journalism, Leon Dash and Colleen King.

The 1977 classic documentary Pumping Iron catches a pre-fame Arnold Schwarzenegger and original Incredible Hulk Lou Ferrigno and many other colorful characters competing to be Mr. Universe 1975. Free popcorn! Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Introduction by Casey Ryan Kelly, Professor of Rhetoric & Public Culture, University of Nebraska.

Join us for a free Ebert Center screening of the 2024 sci-fi horror film Alien: Romulus, the seventh in the popular Alien franchise. Directed by Fede Álvarez, the film features a cast of rising talent as they discover, once again, that in space no one can hear you scream. Free and open to the public.
