Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning (CITL)

The Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning is dedicated to promoting, enhancing, and assessing teaching effectiveness and student learning. We assist faculty, academic units, and teaching assistants in improving instruction. In addition to the events listed below, we are always available for individual consultations or special activities within a department or college.     Learning objectives are the foundation of a good course. You must be clear about these objectives so you can build a course that helps students achieve them. In this workshop, you’ll get some practice using Bloom’s Taxonomy to set objectives at the appropriate level, and you’ll learn about other important aspects of crafting good learning objectives.

    In this workshop, we’ll help you develop strategies to: 1)minimize bias in your grading, 2)break up big assignments into smaller chunks so students can learn from the process, 3) offer concise but helpful feedback on student writing, and 4) help students self-evaluate.
