    The talk will explore the powerful portraits of Aeschylus’ Clytemnestra, Euripides’ Medea, and Sophocles’ Antigone as well as Aristophanes’ Lysistrata. Emphasis will also be placed on interpreting male-female antagonism, women’s religious and social networks in the ancient city of Athens.
