    Join us on Sunday, September 20th, at the Orchard Downs Community Center for a free hands-on workshop where people can make delicious mooncakes and egg yolk pastries together! We will be holding a family session from 10:00 am - 11:30 am and a general session open to everyone from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm.

    ​Interested in learning how to sew? Want to jump into a first-time project that can teach you basic sewing skills and end up with something to take home? ​Head down to the SCD Shop and learn the sewing basics by making a custom draw-string bag! This workshop doesn’t require any experience, and supplies are provided.

Through intentional programs focused on holistic well-being, student engagement, and professional development, Conexiones centers the Latine community and strengthens students’ sense of belonging.

    Students gather around a table at La Casa Cultural Latina, engaging in conversation and completing a group activity together. Papers, pens, and activity sheets are spread across the table.

  • GPU Programming Using OpenACC

    Attend this onsite workshop at NCSA to learn how to use OpenACC API compiler directives to quickly develop GPU-capable codes using standard languages and compilers. Knowledge of either C or Fortran programming is required. Hands-on exercises will use Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center’s Bridges-2 computing platform.

    ​Learn the basics of our laser lab through this unique workshop! Make a customized lamp with an engraving and leave with the knowledge to do it yourself the next time you visit our shop at SCD. No experience needed! Supplies provided. ​Registration is required to participate.
