Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering (WYSE) Events

Southland Prep high school 9th graders will be visiting UIUC for an all-day campus visit. They will be greeted by campus leaders, visit BNAACC, have lunch at ISR, then split to attend an activity/admissions-lite talk in ACES, Gies, and Grainger. WYSE will host a design challenge for this breakout portion of the day.

STEM-interested middle school students and parents are invited to this day of hands-on engineering and interaction with current engineering students at the University of Illinois. Learn more about the college experience and the large variety of engineering careers in need of your creativity and problem solving skills.

ChiS&E provides students in the Chicago Public Schools area with opportunities to grow and expand their knowledge & passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This program is unique in its focus on family partnerships.

WYSE partners with DREAAM and Ctrl-Z to provide an afterschool robotics club experience for middle school students to build interest and skills in engineering and computer science. STEM-interested participants explore age-appropriate and engaging science, engineering, and computer programming topics to prepare for FIRST Lego League challenges.

Students in the RC club at Street College are looking for Grainger engineering students to mentor 3 teams in building and modify their RC car. Preference is that volunteers are consistent for each team through the semester. Another RSO would support efforts on Fridays to work with students through a design and fabrication activity to construct a mobile competition track.
