In this webinar, students, staff, and faculty of the University of Massachusetts Boston will share their experiences of founding, in 2017-18, an Immigrant Student Task Force to involve students, staff, and faculty in creating institutional supports for immigrant students who are undocumented or with other temporary status such as Deferred Action for Child Arrival or Temporary Protected Status. Participants will share how and why this task force was founded; how it was integrated into the university’s administrative structure; how and what supports were created for students; whether, how, and why structure and programming have changed over time; and any insights into strengths and challenges characterizing processes, structures, and specific programs.
