Trauma informed care during disasters: evidence-based strategies to aid in community recovery

Biological, environmental, and technological disasters can have a lasting impact on individuals' and communities' health and well-being. This talk will provide an overview of the mental health impact of disasters, with a focus on the COVID-19 pandemic and environmental disasters including hurricanes and wildfires. Trauma-informed initiatives and best practices for mental health recovery will also be discussed.
