This presentation examines the health and wellbeing of Americans during the COVID-19 pandemic. Informed by a risk and resilience perspective, I will use two data sources -- survey data collected at three time points early in the pandemic and publicly available data from the nationally representative U.S. Census Household Pulse Survey -- to demonstrate that even with high levels of depression, anxiety, and financial strain, Americans are demonstrating resilience during the pandemic. Furthermore, I will present data focusing on the unique challenges that parents and caregivers are facing during this challenging time. I will provide implications of the pandemic for supporting America's most vulnerable children and families.
