Bio:
Rameshwari Jonnalageda is a London-based designer and architect fascinated by the intricate forms of nature. She explores the intersection of design and geometry, creating objects and environments that embody ecological balance. Her work focuses on translating natural geometry into adaptable, porous structures. By minimizing constraints and maximizing ecological potential, she reimagines design as a practice that benefits both humans and the planet. From innovative cooling systems inspired by termite mounds to bio-receptive ceramics that integrate biodiversity, her designs aspire to create a harmonious coexistence of architecture and nature.

Abstract:
This lecture explores the potential of bio-inspired design in integrating ecological harmony within urban environments. Rameshwari Jonnalageda, a designer and architect specializing in computational design and ceramic additive manufacturing, will share her journey of translating natural geometries such as minimal surfaces into context-driven, porous structures. Highlighting key projects like TerraMound and clay habitats, she will demonstrate how these adaptable designs support biodiversity, reduce environmental impact, and reimagine the relationship between the built and natural worlds. Attendees will gain insights into integrating nature’s principles into sustainable design practices, paving the way for a regenerative future.
