Masked Smiles: A Reflection on Interpersonal Connectivity During the Pandemic

This exhibition explores personal and community happiness throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. After a year of quarantine and isolation, this exhibit provides an opportunity for members of the Urbana-Champaign campus community to reveal themselves again through a participatory photography project, revealing their smiles. The once-obstructed smiles of people in the crowd are now projected in full color and detail. The students in ARTE 475 Exhibition Practices hope to highlight some of the smiles we missed seeing the last two years.
