Password: 124708Plants are responding to climate change through shifts in their distributions and phenology. However, changes are not uniform across a species range. I will present two case studies from different species range edges. First, I will discuss flowering phenology and reproduction of starflower, Lysimachia borealis, along a latitudinal gradient from its southern range edge in Illinois to northern Minnesota. Second, I will present information from an expanding range edge of two mangrove species in northern Florida. Mangroves have moved north and increased in abundance due to fewer freezes over the last 30 years. They have also shown remarkable changes to functional and life history traits at their expanding range edge. I will share results of work examining mangrove reproduction along latitudinal gradients and the implications of eutrophication and hurricanes for mangrove range expansion.
