This symposium “will include panels, keynotes, and a large number of concerts, premiers, and other musical events, including a bomba percussion workshop led by guest performers on Saturday afternoon. Musical styles discussed and performed will range from opera to reggaeton, experimental jazz to salsa, and panels will address issues such as identity, compositional practice, and the promotion of Puerto Rican music.
