Join an activity-filled day that will feature entertainment for children, young adults, educators and families! The Youth Literature Festival Community Day Celebration on March 30 will have author presentations, musical performances, book signings, storytelling, puppetry, and an appearance by the PBS Kids characters Super Why! These events will bring together families and the community for one main goal: putting literature at the heart of our lives.

Meet the Authors and Illustrators
Check the schedule to discover the exciting presentations being offered by festival authors and fellow artists! The activities will include book readings, arts and crafts displays, storytelling, tips on writing, books-signing sessions, and sessions for aspiring writers. For more information about the festival and Community Day, please see https://youthlitfest.education.illinois.edu/community/

Julia Alekseyeva, author and illustrator, will be present at the Youth Literature Festival! She is the author of the 2017 Virginia Library Association Graphic Novel Diversity Award winner Soviet Daughter: A Graphic Revolution. Her session will take place on March 30, 10 AM in the Loyalty Room of the I Hotel. Find out more about her and her award-winning book at https://youthlitfest.education.illinois.edu/authors/ and http://www.jalekseyeva.com/

For graduate students interested in meeting Julia Alekseyeva, please join us for a brown bag on Friday, March 29, 12 PM in 101 International Studies Building (910 S. Fifth St., Champaign, IL 61820).

The Youth Literature Festival is made possible by the efforts of the College of Education at Illinois and the University Library. This program is partially supported by the Glenna S. Udre Program in Literacy.
