Join Deputy ADA Coordinator Nick Baumgartner for a complete crash course in the technology exception process. From idea to implementation, accessibility should be proactively integrated into the purchase and onboarding of new technology at Illinois.
You will learn about:
- Do I actually need an exception?
- Tips for early-stage procurement accessibility
- Accessibility evaluations, what they are, how you can get one
- Market comparison and its benefit for providing alternate access
- Alternative Access Plans (AAPs), what they are, and what they are not.
- The Technology Accessibility Review Committee (TARC) process
Q and A will be built into the workshop, and additional time at the end of the session is available to talk about issues or concerns.
Email Nick Baumgartner (nb52@illinois.edu) if you need accommodations.
