The UIUC Chemistry Graduate Diversity & Program Climate Office is excited to sponsor the Gender Equity in Chemical Sciences Conference, featuring keynote speakers Marta Piñeiro Núñez, who will talk about a 30-year career in science, and Candice Halbert, whose presentation is titled, "Element Melanin: The Candice Halbert STEM Story."
The event is open to graduate students and post-docs of all identifying genders in the Department of Chemistry and also features alumni and graduate student panels, a stress management component, lunch, and after the retreat, a T-shirt tie-dyeing activity on the lawn in front of Noyes Laboratory.
The goal of the retreat is to provide professional and social networking opportunities, advice and information regarding early graduate school decisions, and career development information and perspectives. This special event is being offered at no cost to graduate students and post-doctoral fellows in the Department of Chemistry. Please register here by July 29.
