Values-Driven Partnerships: Creating Lasting
Community Impact Through ResearchValues-driven partnerships intentionally align every phase of the work around shared values like mutual aid, deep belonging, and community self-determination to build transformative relationships that shift power and meet community priorities. These values guide everything from research design and decision-making structures to budget allocation and governance.
This event will begin with breakfast and a panel discussion exploring how values-driven partnerships create meaningful and sustainable impact:
Tracy Dace, Founder and Executive Director DREAAM (Driven to Reach Excellence & Achievement for Males)
Shardé Smith, Director, African American Family (AAFam) Stress and Resiliency Lab, College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences
Rachel Charters, Director, Great START Program, Champaign-Urbana Public Health District
Catalina Alzate, Director, Critical Anatomies Lab, College of Fine and Applied Arts
After the panel, participants will have opportunities to engage in reflexive roundtable discussions, network with colleagues, learn more about all the Community-Engaged Research Series has to offer, and connect with representatives from host units.
