LAS Office of Public Engagement

This 3-part workshop explores how community-engaged teaching creates meaningful learning experiences that allow students apply their learning and lived experiences in community settings. It will include three 50-minute sessions that focus on participant perspectives: students, who learn through real-world engagement; faculty, who design and lead community-engaged courses and learning opportunities; and community partners who collaborate and inform shared goals. Participants will gain a better understanding of how building strong connections between classrooms and communities inspire students to think critically and act compassionately as they work with communities during their time as students and beyond.
