Born and raised in Danville, Illinois, Diana Schult grew up running track and playing basketball. She graduated from the University of Illinois in 1993 with a B.S. in Ceramic Engineering. After many years of living and working in Arizona, she returned to her roots in 2023 and now lives on her family’s third generation farm in Danville. Schult is passionate about equine rescue and shares her home with four horses, a donkey, and four dogs. She is a self-described farm girl with an engineering degree from one of the best universities in the US, who pursued a career in semiconductors, and is now able to enjoy both while working from home.
After graduating in 1993, Schult moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to begin her engineering career at Motorola – working in semiconductor fabrication from 1994 to 2002. In 2002, she transitioned to the aerospace industry, first as a Special Process Engineer at Turbomachinery Goodrich and later as a Quality Manager at Metal Improvement until 2005. She returned to the semiconductor industry in 2005, joining Intel’s Assembly Test Technology Development (ATTD) factory in Chandler, AZ. This factory develops chip packaging processes, not only for Intel’s products but also for foundry customers, and transfers those processes to high-volume factories in China, Vietnam, Alaysia, and Costa Rica. Her work has taker her to training assignments in Costa Rica and Germany. In 2023 she was approved to work remotely, and relocated back to Danville, IL, while continuing her role at Intel.
