This presentation will provide an introduction to writing research statements for fellowship and grant proposals. You'll learn more about the statement's purpose in relation to other application materials, review common features, practice explaining the novelty and significance of your research, and gain tips for writing impactfully. Writers from any discipline are welcome, and this presentation will be most effective for students with limited fellowship and grant writing experience who are seeking to demystify the application process.
This presentation will be held via Zoom, and is open to all current U of I affiliates (students, faculty, and staff). You will need to be logged into Zoom with your Illinois credentials to join.
