Dump & Run® happens at the U of I Stock Pavilion (W Pennsylvania Ave, Urbana, IL 61801), in cooperation with the College of ACES and Department of Animal Sciences.

Drop-Off Collections – Stock Pavilion

  • Mon., Aug. 3: Noon – 4pm
  • Tues., Aug. 4 – Fri., Aug. 7: 9am – 4pm
  • Sat., Aug. 8: 9am – 1pm
  • Mon., Aug. 10 – Fri., Aug. 14: 9am – 4pm
  • Sat., Aug. 15: 9am – 1pm

Free Furniture & Bike Pickup – Curbside, Champaign-Urbana

  • Saturdays, Aug. 8 & 15: 9am – 4pm
    The Y will pick up large furniture and bikes for free. Curbside service only. Smaller items must be dropped off at the Stock Pavilion.

The Big Sale – Stock Pavilion

  • Saturday, Aug. 22 – 8am to 3pm
    $5 admission. Free for U of I and Parkland students.
  • Sunday, Aug. 23 – 11am to 2pm
    $3 bag sale + half-price furniture. Free admission for all.
  • Sunday, Aug. 23 – 2:30 to 3pm: Free Sale. Whatever’s left is yours. We’d rather it find a home than go in a dumpster.

Furniture delivery available for a $10 fee (curbside only). Payment accepted: credit/debit, check, cash (denominations of $50 or less), Venmo, and PayPal.

Donate: What We Accept

We welcome almost everything in good, usable condition. If you’re unsure whether an item is in good enough shape, bring it anyway – we’ll do our best to find it a new home. Clothing must be in nearly-new condition.

We collect:

  • Furniture and home goods
  • Dishes, glassware, pots & pans
  • Mini-fridges and small appliances
  • Working computers and electronics
  • Bicycles
  • Office and school supplies
  • Books, vinyl records, CDs, musical instruments
  • Artwork, jewelry, sporting equipment
  • Non-perishable food items, toiletries
  • Lawn & garden items

We DO NOT collect:

  • CRT televisions or monitors (absolutely no exceptions)
  • Non-flat screen TVs
  • Mattresses, sleeper sofas, foam mattress pads
  • Full-size fridges, stoves, washers, dryers, large exercise equipment
  • Non-working electronics or computer parts
  • Car seats, cribs, helmets, or other items requiring recertification
  • Paint, cassette tapes, VHS tapes, pianos
  • Christmas and holiday decorations

The University YMCA and Stock Pavilion are monitored for illegal dumping. For electronics recycling options, visit champaignil.gov/recycling. The University YMCA reserves the right to refuse any donation based on size, weight, condition, or other reason.

Schedule a Free Furniture or Bike Pickup

Free curbside pickup for large furniture and bikes is available on Saturdays, August 8 and 15, from 9am to 4pm, for Champaign-Urbana residents. Pickups are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis; your window may fall outside your preferred time based on demand.

Only large items – if you have smaller donations, please drop them off at the Stock Pavilion during collection hours.
