Celebrate history, culture, and connection in Brooklyn, Illinois, during an event marking the dedication of new Route 66 signage and honoring the town's place along the Mother Road.
The Illinois State Archaeological Survey will be present and is contributing interpretive panels for the event. The program will include speakers from partner organizations, a live performance by the House of Miles Youth Ensemble, and exhibits highlighting Brooklyn's history.
The event is part of a reunion weekend recognizing Brooklyn's legacy, pride, and heritage as America's oldest Black incorporated town.
