The Policy & Research Team at the Education Justice Project is very happy to announce its second legislation discussion as part of the many events they are hosting this semester. Join us on March 25th as we welcome a representative from Parole Illinois to speak about HB 2764. Otherwise known as the Earned Reentry Bill, if approved, this bill would begin restoring parole in Illinois by having those serving 20+ years become eligible for consideration of parole. Along with explaining this bill in more detail, this discussion will also delve into the progress of this bill in this legislative session, as well as address the political context surrounding it as well. This event will end with a Q&A as well, and we welcome all perspectives and inquiries. All are welcome!
Please RSVP for this event by using the labelled Registration link, which will also give you the opportunity to RSVP for future discussions as well. Upon RSVPing, you may also receive some information about the bills before the discussion through email.
