A documentary screening of "Are You A Librarian?" with a question and answer panel featuring Rodney Freeman (director), Asia Harris (writer), and iSchool Interim Dean Emily Knox. 

The screening is free and open to community members! 

Distance-learning students can watch the film online and participate in the Q&A over Zoom. Registration is required for Zoom participation information.

Emily Knox is interim dean and professor in the School of Information Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her research interests include information access and intellectual freedom and censorship.

Rodney Freeman - Director and Producer - is a seasoned library professional with over 15 years of experience across academic, public, and government libraries. His expertise spans digital collections, databases, and taxonomy, beginning with a focus on digital archives and evolving into roles ranging from library page to administrator. As the founder of Reminisce Preservation, Rodney empowers libraries, schools, nonprofits, and individuals by offering innovative tools and networks to facilitate the creation, interaction, and preservation of legacies. His work reflects a passion for connecting communities with the resources to safeguard their histories.

Asia Harris - Writer - has a background in various forms of media, including but not limited to narrative films, screenwriting, documentaries, and radio. After graduating from Hampton University with a bachelor’s degree in English arts, she submerged herself into the world of museums, public programming, and media. Asia has experience in nonprofit management, youth leadership, and creative writing. She has been a contributing writer for award-winning films shown at festivals, libraries, and universities across the U.S.
