Founded in 2019, Kuroshio is an ever-evolving ensemble of improvising artists of Asian descent who explore identity, culture, and diasporic histories through sound. For Finkelman, a fourth-generation Japanese American, this work is deeply personal—offering space to remember and reflect on the World War II incarceration his ancestors endured.
